Rotational Development Program-Small Business Division
What is the Rotational Development Program (RDP)? A 27 month leadership development program that recruits University graduates and develops top talent into future leaders of Intuit. We believe the single most important factor in our long-term success as a company is our ability to attract and develop great leaders. And we believe that leaders are more effective when they have deep knowledge of our products, processes and organization. The RDP puts these beliefs into action.
Why should I be interested in RDP?
- You want to make a difference by solving problems which affect the lives of millions of people
- You have excelled in your academic field of study, and want to explore different career options such as marketing, product management and product development
- You want to be given a chance to learn and develop your business skills across a wide range of functions, leveraging the experience of accomplished leaders across the company
What is the Small Business Division? Intuit's Small Business Division, which includes Quicken and QuickBooks products, provides personal finance, accounting and business management software and services to millions of individuals, small businesses and their accountants.
What would I do as a RDP Associate? The role of the Associate is both to learn from and contribute to the functional groups within the Small Business organization to which he or she is assigned. Associates begin the program by developing a deep knowledge of our product and customers through a three month rotation at our Customer Contact Center in Tucson, Arizona. They then complete 4 six-month rotations, primarily at Intuit headquarters in Mountain View, California, through the following areas:
- Marketing - responsible for development and execution of marketing strategy and programs including product launches
- Product Management - responsible for customer needs analysis, product strategy and software requirements development
- Process Excellence / Operations Management - responsible for development and execution of operational improvement strategies
- Product Development - if qualified with a technical background
Through these rotational assignments, Associates will gain an in-depth understanding of our products, customers and internal processes while making meaningful work contributions. At the completion of the program, Associates are expected to move onto a career path within one of these functional areas.
What kinds of projects would I work on?
- Market research, customer needs research, and competitive analysis
- Market research, customer needs research, and competitive analysis
- Feature development for new products or existing products
- Marketing campaign or packaging design and execution
- Measurement and analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes
- Forecasting analysis and reporting
- Revenue and profitability analysis of customers or products
What are some of the work expectations? We expect Associates to learn by doing. Therefore, we look for self-starters that are motivated to find answers and pro-actively ask for help as needed. Throughout your rotations, you will have support from a variety of people who are invested in your success, including senior business leaders serving as advisors, your direct managers, designated "buddy" co-workers, and your fellow class of Associates.
We expect Associates to engage in all aspects of the job, whether it is delivering presentations of your work, attending meetings, helping customers, or writing proposals. We also provide many opportunities for growth through leadership forums, group off-sites, and company-sponsored development courses.
What do I do after the rotations are over? Associates are expected to move into a career path in one of the four functional areas. We do not require further graduate degrees for promotion in those career tracks. We are looking for individuals who have the drive to succeed over the long-term in a high performing organization. |
