October 6, 2005 Once again, a hurricane has devastated the Gulf Coast, and once again, Intuit employees offer our thoughts and support to those left in its wake this time to the victims of Hurricane Rita. To many of us, the losses suffered by victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita are incomprehensible. We cannot begin to comprehend the enormity of the challenge you face. We want to do our part to help you address some of your needs. Our hurricane assistance efforts, started in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, extend to those affected by Hurricane Rita as well. To date, our employees and the Intuit Foundation have contributed over $835,000 (as of Oct. 18) in cash to designated organizations. As part of this program, the Intuit Foundation is providing a two-for-one match for every dollar contributed by employees to hurricane relief efforts. In addition, some of our employees are cashing out their vacation time to provide cash to selected charitable organizations and have volunteered to help disaster assistance organizations in their hometowns or in the Gulf Coast areas. And as you'll see below, we're also providing software, services and additional financial support to help individuals and businesses recover and get re-established. Over the past several years, man-made and natural disasters have tested our nation's resolve. On each occasion, we've seen the American spirit respond in unprecedented ways. We are seeing it again today. We also salute those in the public and private sector who are working so hard to assist those in need. As our hearts go out to all of you in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama, we at Intuit will continue our support, in our own small way, to help you rebuild. Very sincerely, Steve Bennett For Intuit Customers in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
