Every year, millions of Americans face (and candidly dread) filing their taxes. The entire process can be confusing, complicated, and overwhelming. But for some tax refunds are often their biggest check of the year.

How do you ensure you are claiming all the credits and deductions you’ve earned or have all the information needed to make sure you’re saving the most money? How do you keep up with all the changes in the tax code and understand the impacts for you and your family? This year for example, the “One Big Beautiful Bill” added new deductions for tips, overtime pay, car loan interest payments, and seniors age 65 and older.

We believe no one should have to navigate that alone so for the second year this tax season we brought free services and resources back to Inglewood.

Free help, real experts, true confidence

On March 7, instead of a roaring crowd, the state-of-the-art arena and home to the LA Clippers, Intuit Dome was filled with something quieter but just as powerful – hundreds of families, volunteers, and community leaders gathering for a single purpose. They were there to make tax season a little less daunting and a lot more hopeful.

That was Intuit’s Community Tax Day.

More than 400 attendees came, joined by 70 tax experts and Intuit staff. Tax experts included TurboTax experts and volunteers from community partner Tax-Aid. The experts provided eligible taxpayers hands-on guidance and tax filings at no cost, ultimately filing 274 tax returns in a single day—helping hundreds of people maximize refunds and navigate the filing process with confidence.*

California Assemblymember Tina McKinnor (D-Inglewood) opened the event, thanking TurboTax, volunteers, and community partners for helping taxpayers feel confident and empowered in their financial journeys.

At Intuit, powering prosperity means showing up for the communities where people live, work, and build their futures. That’s why we’ve brought Community Tax Day back to Inglewood for the third consecutive year, and why, as soon as guests walked through those gates, they were met not with complexity, but with care.

More than tax filing, community shows up for community

Completing taxes can feel like a burden, but this year, it became something far more a moment of genuine connection and support that extended well beyond thinking about W-2s, credits, and deductions.

Fifteen local organizations connected families to every day resources via a resource fair, spanning housing stability, legal guidance, and other essential services.

Guests also enjoyed free food served by 13 students from Polytechnic High School and Compton Unified School District through Intuit’s Food Truck Program — a first-of-its-kind initiative that provides fully operational, Intuit QuickBooks-powered food trucks to school districts, paired with curriculum that teaches high schoolers how to run a real small business. Equipped with commercial-grade kitchens, these trucks give students hands-on culinary and entrepreneurial experience that goes far beyond the classroom. It’s a reminder that investing in community means investing in the people who will one day lead it.

Starting this year, people can also find us in TurboTax Stores, two in Los Angeles. The stores are local, in-person locations staffed with trained tax professionals who help taxpayers navigate complicated returns and find every deduction or credit they deserve.

At Intuit, we know when communities thrive, we all thrive.

One day, one community, one event to help power prosperity in Inglewood and Greater LA

This year, with the help of our volunteers, partners, and local students, we helped hundreds of families file with confidence, access important resources, and feel more empowered in their financial lives.

Community Tax Day shows that real impact happens when expertise, technology, and community come together.

Intuit helps Americans hold on to more of their money with free filing, expert guidance, and smart tools—building the financial confidence that keeps the American Dream within reach. We are proud to stand with Inglewood, Greater Los Angeles and the communities we serve, every tax season.
