Today Intuit named Marianna Tessel its new chief technology officer. Marianna is currently senior vice president and chief product development officer for Intuit’s Small Business and Self-Employed Group. She will assume the role Jan. 1, 2019 when the current CTO, Tayloe Stansbury, steps down.

“Tayloe has done so much to lead our transformation and has been a mentor and friend to me personally for the last 17 years,” said Tessel. “I believe we have a huge opportunity to make Intuit a celebrated, world-class technology organization where the best engineers want to solve meaningful problems and create amazing products. I am excited about what’s to come.”

Since joining Intuit in May 2017, Marianna has led a team of more than 1500 engineers who are responsible for building our global small business and self-employed products helping entrepreneurs and businesses grow.

Prior to Intuit, Marianna held senior leadership roles at a variety of technology companies including, Docker, VMWare, Ariba and General Magic.  She has also been named multiple times in The Most Powerful Women Engineers in Tech by Business Insider.
