Delivering on that mission is one of the reasons we have our Intuit Military and Veteran Initiative to help transform the lives of military families and veterans through community, jobs and financial empowerment. While we’re thankful that our active duty service members are safe and accounted for, we can’t ignore the impact that Sunday morning’s fire aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, a navy ship based in San Diego, has had on active duty US Navy service members in the military community. “Our hearts go out to the service members and their families who were impacted by the fire aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard,” said Jack Rubin, Executive Sponsor and ally for Intuit’s Military & Veteran Initiative. “We honor and appreciate their service,” said Jack “and we believe that companies should support active duty service members, their families and the military community.” We are donating to Support the Enlisted Project (STEP), an organization that is dedicated to helping build self-sufficiency among active duty enlisted members and veterans. Many sailors living aboard the ship lost personal belongings, including their uniforms and items of sentimental value. In partnership with STEP, our donation will provide emergency relief to the impacted sailors living aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard. In addition, Intuit employees in San Diego and all other locations will have the opportunity to donate in support of these sailors and their families through Intuit’s We Care & Give Back program, which matches eligible contributions 1:1. We’re stronger when we come together – and we are committed to helping support our military community during this time of need.
