Intuit expands Cross-Country Discovery Conference to Meet Demand for QuickBooks 2008 Information

New User Interface, Enhanced Database among the Features Driving
    Attendance at Discovery Conference

EDMONTON, Nov. 8 /CNW/ - In the wake of sold-out opening events in Ottawa
and Mississauga, Intuit Canada has added more dates, increased the number of
on-site staff, and upgraded venues for some of the remaining QuickBooks 2008
Discovery Conference dates, crossing Canada throughout November and early
December. Demand for details on QuickBooks 2008 has been overwhelming as
Intuit Canada previews the most significant QuickBooks release in years.
Bookkeepers, accountants and ProAdvisors are responding positively to new
features and functionality that make them more productive and help them bring
more small businesses onto accounting software.
The QuickBooks 2008 Discovery Conference is a one-day, intensive seminar
designed for accounting professionals. Discovery includes a full preview of
QuickBooks 2008 and includes comprehensive sessions presented by professional
trainers, designed to cover all the new features in QuickBooks.
"Discovery lets our QuickBooks team work face-to-face with hundreds of
accountants and bookkeepers, and the early response has been exceptional,"
said Barb Anderson, group marketing manager of Intuit Canada. "To keep up with
demand, we've added more events in Toronto and Burnaby."
QuickBooks 2008 Discovery Conference attendees get a full preview of
QuickBooks 2008, which features a new home page, improved set-up for new
users, more flexible sales tax support, a new SQL database that delivers
better performance and productivity, and many other new features.
Intuit Canada has also announced the QuickBooks EasyStart Free Starter
Edition, specifically designed to help accountants develop new business
relationships without their customers incurring software costs at the outset.
According to a new Ipsos Reid-QuickBooks survey, many Canadian small business
owners are using software to improve how they work with their accountant or
bookkeeper, with 78 per cent of respondents reporting that technology makes it
easier to work with an accountant.
"This is clearly the biggest new QuickBooks release in years," said
Michael Di Lauro, CMA, of Di Lauro & Company. "We see this as an excellent way
to bolster our working relationship with clients and to bring new small
businesses into the fold."
