TurboTax has introduced key upgrades empowering Canadians to file their taxes quickly and confidently.

TORONTO, Feb. 18, 2019 /CNW/ - The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) opens its electronic filing service today, officially marking the start of tax season for the nearly 30 million Canadians who file taxes. No matter your situation or preferences, TurboTax Canada is here to help. New this year, you can even file from TurboTax's mobile app for iPhone or iPad, making it easier and more convenient than ever to maximize your return.

The way Canadians are working and filing taxes is evolving. For example, 15% of Canadians have picked up a new side-gig in the last two years; and 53% of those Canadians with supplemental income are between 18-34 years old*. With this shift in demographics, TurboTax has placed increased emphasis on helping Canadians navigate changes such as starting a side-business, getting married, having a baby or buying a house; all from your browser, mobile phone or tablet.

New this year is an important innovation for Canadians. TurboTax's new mobile app is now available exclusively for iPhone and iPad  and provides the same level of experience and quality that they are used to in TurboTax Online from the palm of their hands. This is inclusive of being able to leverage AutoFill my Return, which imports key information directly from the CRA. Taxpayers will be able to file completely from their iOS device, or get things started and finish from another device seamlessly.

• TurboTax Online offers different versions for different needs. TurboTax Standard asks you a series of easy-to-answer questions and offers guidance claiming all of your family, medical, and tuition credits. TurboTax Premier includes everything in Standard, but also offers additional guidance with investment and rental property income.
• TurboTax Live Assist and Review offers access to one-on-one support from our network of tax experts who answer your questions along the way and then review your return before filing to ensure everything is filled correctly.
• For those who prefer to have an expert fill out their return and file for them, TurboTax Live's Full Service offering does just that. You can get your taxes completed and filed for you, without ever leaving your home.
• Self-Employed Canadians are not left out. Whether you want to do your own taxes by answering a series of easy-to-answer interview questions, to do your taxes with help from an expert or to have someone else prepare your taxes, TurboTax has a service that's just right for Self-Employed Canadians.
• All versions of TurboTax have complete Auto-fill my return integration to automatically populate key information like your T4 slip and RRSP contribution, saving even more time.
