ADP Partners With Intuit, The Makers Of TurboTax, To Deliver Automated Tax Preparation To 30 Million Employees
Agreement will allow ADP customers to deliver Form W-2 information to employees for direct import into the #1-selling tax preparation software
SAN DIEGO, Calif. and ROSELAND, NJ - October 21, 2002 - Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU), makers of the #1-best selling TurboTax® tax preparation software products, and ADP Employer Services, a division of ADP, Inc. (NYSE: ADP), the leading provider of comprehensive integrated outsourced payroll and human resource services, today announced they have signed an agreement to provide ADP customers the ability to deliver Form W-2 information to employees that can be imported directly into TurboTax via its revolutionary Instant Data Entry feature.

"We're excited to begin this relationship with ADP and help them deliver value-added solutions for their customers," said Tom Allanson, senior vice president of Intuit's Consumer Tax Division. "Teaming up with ADP to provide 30 million employees the option of importing their tax information directly into their TurboTax return, and the increased availability of TurboTax products to these employees, raises the standard of what employers can do via partnerships to make tax time less taxing."

Intuit introduced Instant Data Entry (IDE) functionality in TurboTax products two years ago. IDE allows customers to import common tax information - from forms like W-2, 1098, and 1099 - directly into their TurboTax return saving time and making their return more accurate than if they entered the information manually. The IDE feature will allow ADP customers and their employees to streamline their tax preparation and significantly reduce the amount of time spent completing their tax return.

"We're looking forward to working with Intuit to provide our clients and their employees with this easy-to-use, time saving feature to make tax filing easier and more accurate," said John LaMancuso, vice president of marketing, ADP Employer Services, Major Accounts Division. "ADP is the leading provider of integrated outsourced payroll and human resource services, and by providing this service to our clients' employees, we're able to extend to them the advantages that make ADP the provider of choice."
