Intuit Launches Software Development Kit For Intuit Master Builder
Intuit Continues to Expand Opportunities for the Construction Market with Integration of Third-Party Construction Software Tools
BURLINGAME, Calif. - November 13, 2002 - Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU), a leading provider of business and financial management solutions for consumers, businesses and accounting professionals, announced, from its first annual developer conference, the release of a Software Development Kit (SDK) for Intuit® Master Builder®, its construction management software. The SDK enables third-party software developers to create solutions that integrate with Intuit Master Builder, which ultimately means construction companies will have more options and more solutions to meet the specific needs of their business.

"Working with third-party developers is a significant part of our future. We want to give customers more options to meet their unique business management needs," said Dan Smith, founder of Master Builder and vice president of Intuit Construction Business Solutions. "Integrating Intuit Master Builder with other software solutions that serve the construction market enables Master Builder to lend itself to better meet customers' current and future needs, as well as the needs of the many segments within the construction industry."

The Intuit Developer Network offers valuable opportunities and benefits to Intuit Master Builder third-party developers. Developers are able to leverage relationships across the entire Intuit Developer Network, as well as the brand value Intuit offers. Developers gain exposure to over 500 Intuit Master Builder channel solution providers and professional advisors. In addition, developers can expand their ability to meet customer needs through offering integrated construction software tools and segment-specific solutions.

There are several beta partners already using the SDK, including Xactware, a provider of estimating solutions for insurance carriers, property adjusters, restoration contractors and remodelers; Symbol Technologies, a global leader in laser bar code scanners, hand-held computers and wireless communications networks for voice and data; and BuildLinks, a provider of Web-based CRM tools that manage home project schedules, change orders and communications with home buyers.

"We are excited to offer increased flexibility for the many industry professionals who want to automate information exchange between estimating and accounting systems," says James Loveland, founder and CEO of Xactware, Inc. "Intuit's Developer Network program creates win-win relationships by allowing industry leaders to work closely together for the benefit of all customers."

"More and more workers are turning to mobile and wireless solutions to manage their daily tasks," said Keith Kanneg, senior director with Symbol Technologies. "Providing mobile applications for Intuit Master Builder integrated with Symbol's rugged devices is an important combination of how we can develop solutions to better serve the industry."

In addition to the Intuit Master Builder SDK, developers also have access to additional resources, such as a developer Web site with marketing tools, including news, updates, electronic brochures and demos. The annual cost to participate in the program is $1,995. For more information about the Intuit Master Builder SDK, please visit http://www.sagecre.com/.
