Defined by customer-driven innovation, QuickBooks: Pro 2005 for Mac continues to be the easiest Mac-based solution for everyday accounting tasks. This new release retains the same familiar and easy-to-use Mac interface of the previous version while offering easier data sharing with Windows users, more customizable forms and new tools to help boost efficiency and accuracy.

Customer-Inspired Customization Options
Customer feedback comes through a variety of channels. One of this year's most exciting features was inspired by a chance encounter at Macworld.

San Francisco-based graphic designer Michael Grantham, who has also been a long-time QuickBooks for Mac customer, stopped by the Intuit booth with a business need. The QuickBooks for Mac team turned his need into a solution with a new "tools you'll use" feature in QuickBooks: Pro 2005 for Mac, which allows users to create or select their own unique business image by adding any PDF background to their forms. Customers can choose from professionally designed background images or add their own designs to invoices, statements, sales receipts, purchase orders and estimates. They can also change any of the form fonts, select printed fields or add status stamps to any of these documents.

Easily Share Information with Windows Users
Now it is even easier to share QuickBooks Mac data with Windows users, such as an accountant. In Pro 2005 for Mac, users can open QuickBooks for Windows files and backup files on the Mac (converts data from QuickBooks Basic, Pro and Premier and Premier Accountant for Windows versions 2005 and 2004).

In addition, this version also features a menu structure that matches QuickBooks for Windows, so it's even easier to get help from a Windows-based accountant. This two-way, seamless data interchange is an extremely important and valuable feature for QuickBooks Mac users and their Windows-based accountants.

Easily Manages Everyday Tasks
By enabling small business owners to track information with greater accuracy and manage information more efficiently, QuickBooks: Pro 2005 for Mac is not only helping Mac small business owners save valuable time but also helping them find ways to maximize potential revenue.

• Unbilled Costs: Helps users see where unbilled hours and expenses can be turned into more money to the business.
• Underbilling Alerts: If there are any unbilled hours or expenses these timely reminders alert the user at the time the invoice is being created - so nothing is overlooked.
• QuickZoom®: Allows users to see the details behind the numbers in their Pay Bills and Receive Payments screens.
• Inactive Items: Helps organize and de-clutter users' customer, vendor and other lists by making unused items inactive. The information is hidden but can be reactivated at any time.
• Sort Column: Allows users to sort lists by column such as customer balance or item price to better analyze and manage their information.

Now QuickBooks integrates with iCal (included in Mac OS X from Apple, Computer, Inc.), so users can schedule all of their tasks - and get reminders to print invoices and checks or pay bills -- on one consolidated calendar.
