| TurboTax Refund Bonus can turn a $1,000 refund into $1,200 or more |
| SAN DIEGO - Jan. 18, 2006 - Who couldn't use more money to spend on the things they buy everyday? Whether it's a morning cup of coffee, books, movies, items for the home, or even a trip to Hawaii, TurboTax Refund Bonus, a new program exclusive to TurboTax products, from Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), lets customers turn a $1,000 federal tax refund into $1,200, or more in gift cards. By teaming with more than 50 favorite retailers, the TurboTax Refund Bonus program adds bonus dollars on top of customers' federal tax refunds that they can use at popular merchants, including Lowe's, Starbucks Coffee, Blockbuster, Borders Books & Music, AMC Theatres, and Expedia.com. The bonus dollars are included on gift cards delivered directly to the customer's home. With TurboTax Refund Bonus, customers can use $90 of their refund to get a Starbucks Card loaded with $100 for an extra week of morning lattes. Or $100 from their refund gets taxpayers $200 to use with floral delivery giant FTD.com, doubling the amount of roses they can give special people in their lives this Valentine's Day. And a $200 trip to JCPenney for kids' clothing means an extra $20 for an additional pair of shoes. Since there is no minimum to participate in the program, customers can use as much or as little as they want and have the balance of their refund deposited directly into their bank account¹. Customers can use the cards when they want or give them as gifts - there's no expiration date. Customers may receive no more than 80 gift cards, or a maximum of $10,000. "Every year, TurboTax is part of a much anticipated event, a 'magic moment', when a customer learns they're going to get a tax refund," said Brad Henske, general manager of Intuit's consumer tax group. "With TurboTax Refund Bonus, we're offering a unique premium - even more value on top of the customer's refund - that's available nowhere else." |
