Our mission to power prosperity around the world is fueled by our values and supports our belief that every employee should be able to bring their whole self to work. Diversity isn’t something we do—it’s who we are.

Innovation thrives in a workforce that includes employees with a wide range of life experiences and a supportive culture that lets great ideas rise to the top. And we know that inclusiveness drives empathy for our customers. That’s why we continuously strive to create a workforce that reflects the demographics of those we serve, helping us create products that solve important problems and exceed expectations.

We take a holistic approach to create a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging. We focus on talent acquisition, engagement and advancement of diverse talent; building leader capability to lead inclusively; and investing in our collective future by sponsoring organizations such as Girls Who Code, ML4T.org, Code 2040, and other organizations that cultivate interest in tech careers across all demographics.

And while we’re proud of our legacy, our work is far from done. We’re not satisfied until we reach parity. We don’t yet fully mirror our 50 million customers. We continue to focus on achieving gender equality in our workplace and increasing underrepresented minorities to reflect the customers we serve.

In 2018:

Our mission to power prosperity around the world is fueled by our values and supports our belief that every employee should be able to bring their whole self to work. Diversity isn’t something we do—it’s who we are.

  • Women represent 39% of our global workforce, including 27% in technology positions and 31% in executive positions.
  • We maintained 12% of our workforce comprised of Native Americans, Blacks and Latinx employees.
  • We retained 75% of female technologists who participated in our global returnship program, Intuit Again, following extended time away from their career to start a family.
  • We launched new workforce measures for inclusivity and belonging. By pulsing employees regularly about their perceived sense of belonging, we will surface areas where Intuit can invest and improve. We found equally high belonging and engagement scores between men and women, but a slight gap between how men and women perceive the inclusivity of their team and work climate.
  • We launched our “Leading Inclusively” training with our top 400 leaders, who participated in unconscious bias training and workshops to strengthen core skills for remaining objective and maintaining a growth mindset, two core skills that limit bias in the management process.

The Importance of a Diverse Workforce

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion goes beyond the demographics of our global workforce.

*Intuit defines “tech” as roles within project development, project management, design and data communities. “Executives” are considered employees at director level and above.

Pay Equity

We are committed to equal pay and continued to refine and refocus in fiscal 2018. The practice of working with an independent, outside company to look for statistically significant differences in employee pay is part of how we operate as a company, and we’ll continue to refine to improve future pay analyses.

As of Aug. 1, 2018:

  • In the U.S., women earn on average 99.4 cents (compared to $1 last year) for every $1 men earn
  • In the U.S., minorities earn on average 99.1 cents (compared to 99.7 cents last year) for every $1 whites earn
  • In India, women earn on average 96.2 cents (compared to 95.5 cents last year) for every $1 men earn
  • In all other countries, women earn on average $1.01 for every $1 that men earn

Spotlight Initiatives

We need and are doing more to achieve gender equality and increase under-represented minorities in our workforce. Here are five examples of our investments:

  • Intuit Again
  • Pay Equality
  • Partnerships: Code 2040, MLT, Girls Who Code, Lesbians Who Code
  • Employee Networks
  • Addressing Unconscious Bias in Hiring (A4A Panels)

Equal Employment Opportunity 2016 Employer Information Report

We annually file our workforce demographics in the Employer Information Report EEO-1. Our numbers may vary slightly from the government’s report due to changes that have been made in the industry and in technology since the report was created in 1966. We believe the information we provide on this site accurately represents our true progress.

Policies for our Employees

Intuit is committed to fostering a safe, ethical and inclusive work environment. We have policies that are particularly important for helping us live up to that commitment, which we are sharing to increase transparency and promote a dialogue.

We encourage our employees to bring their whole selves to work as part of an environment where they can do the best work of their lives. That includes opportunities to champion diversity and inclusion by participating in one of our employee network groups.

Tech Women @ Intuit

Twenty-seven percent of our global tech workforce is female. While we’re ahead of the industry, we aspire to even greater gender diversity. Our Tech Women @ Intuit initiative is focused on attracting, retaining and advancing women in technical roles. Our programs include sponsorship by leaders, peer mentoring through Intuit Circles based on Lean In Circles, development workshops like negotiation, executive presence and speaking skills, and site events to build our tech women community.
