Intuit Rise: Girl Child Empowerment Program

Making an impact in the world of education

At Intuit India, we believe in the power of education to ignite change and create a brighter future. In 2017, we launched the Intuit Rise: Girl Child Empowerment Program in India—designed to empower young girls and help them rise by providing access to holistic education, life skills training, and career guidance. Six years later, the impact of this program continues to grow, shaping a pathway for them to succeed.

Our belief in collective change led to the launch of an employee referral program in 2021, inviting our employees to become ambassadors of the cause. We foster a personal connection between our employees and the program embodying Intuit’s vision of building a better world.

The impact is tangible. Nearly 75% of our beneficiaries come from families earning less than INR 1 lakh annually, while 25% of them scored above 90% in FY24. In FY25 alone, the program awarded scholarships to over 2,000 girl students. These achievements are a testament to what happens when potential meets opportunity.

Success stories

Sneha K

Sneha, from rural Bettiah, Bihar, faced limited resources and opportunities but showed exceptional determination, scoring 80.4% in her Class 12 exams. Her father, a small-scale farmer, struggled to support their family, often borrowing money to cover education costs. Despite financial hurdles, Sneha pursued her dream of studying engineering, using her Class 12 scholarship savings for BTech admission fees. Still, paying semester fees remained a challenge. During this difficult time, she discovered the Intuit Rise: Girl Child Empowerment Program.

On receiving the scholarship, she said, "I was planning to get an education loan, but that would be a big burden for me. Now, I am getting 246,000 as a scholarship under this scheme by Intuit India, which is a very big help. With this scholarship, I can pay my fees on time without asking my family for help. I am deeply grateful to Intuit India for its support."

Sneha aims to secure a job through campus placement after graduation to support her family financially and help her siblings access better education. Talking about her aspirations, she added, "After completing my BTech, I aim to become a software engineer. My dream is to build my own home with the money I have earned through my hard work.”

Sneha Myakalmardi

Sneha, an exceptional student, scored 96% in her 10th board exams. Inspired by her hardworking parents’ belief in education as a path to success, she grew up in a supportive family of five, admiring her father's tireless dedication to their well-being. Despite his endless efforts, carrying the weight of supporting the entire family and ensuring all three children received a good education was no easy feat. Yet, his determination left a lasting mark on Sneha, fueling her drive to excel.

Sneha's unwavering passion for computer science inspired her to pursue a diploma after completing her 10th grade. Her dedication and hard work bore fruit when her exceptional board exam results earned her a fee concession. While this brought some relief to her parents, the financial strain still lingered, especially with her bachelor's exams just around the corner. Despite all efforts, the burden of expenses felt overwhelming. During this challenging time, the Intuit Rise: Girl Child Empowerment Program arrived as a rescuer.

Sneha aspires to become an entrepreneur in her chosen field of study. Her immediate goal is to excel academically and achieve outstanding grades. Grateful for this scholarship opportunity, she is determined to give back and support others once she is in a position to do so.
