With my husband’s job as a basketball coach taking us around the country, Intuit is the perfect place to continue my seasonal tax and accounting career as an Enrolled Agent. Along with the flexibility of working remotely, I have the support of an outstanding team of tax, bookkeeping, and financial experts. It all keeps me coming back every year.

Helping people with medicine or money?

Back in high school, I thought I wanted to be a nurse until one of my teachers showed us how to do our own tax returns, and I really liked it. I asked her, “What is this?” She said, “Accounting.” That’s all I needed to know – and that’s how I got into tax & accounting. Now I’m fulfilling my ambition to assist people by helping customers solve their tax issues as a seasonal employee with Intuit.

If you don’t know much about us, here’s the scoop: Intuit is a global technology platform that helps our customers and communities overcome their most important financial challenges. Serving millions of customers worldwide with TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We work tirelessly to find new, innovative ways to deliver on this belief.

Seasonal employment at Intuit: Here’s what you need to know

It’s a great deal. As a TurboTax Live expert, you commit to an entire season and work at least 20 hours per week. We’re open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific Time 7 days a week, so you have the flexibility to choose the slots that work best for you, based on availability. As a seasonal employee, you can be eligible for medical coverage, bonuses, and our 401(k) plan.

I’m excited to be moving up in my career

After getting my Enrolled Agent certification and being a tax expert for several years, I’m thrilled to continue growing my career. I recently received a promotion to a seasonal tax lead position, where I’ll be supervising and assisting our tax leads, providing them with information they need to solve our customers’ accounting issues. Staying close to customers builds empathy, which improves my ability to meet their needs.

Why I always come back to Intuit every year

My husband is an assistant basketball coach, and Intuit lets me flex my career around his hoops’ schedule. This means I’m working 40 plus hours a week from December through the end of April. It’s a perfect balance for my work-life needs.

Basketball coaches often relocate to join a different team – which is why we’ve moved from New Orleans to Daytona Beach to Texas the past few years. With Intuit, I can keep my career going as a seasonal employee – working remotely – even as we travel around the country. I don’t think any financial services firm can match that kind of flexibility.

Let me tell you about my colleagues

I appreciate my colleagues’ wisdom, and I want to learn from their experiences and expertise. We’re all happy to share knowledge with each other, whether it’s through regular internal meetings, chat platforms, video calls, or even a quick email. It all adds up to a win-win-win: a win for the customer, a win for the company, and a win for all of the experts who continue to grow professionally.

I haven’t mentioned our technology yet

I take our technology for granted, but that’s a good thing – because it’s awesome. Our customers can start live conversations with Intuit’s experts right inside our products. The platform also makes documentation, collaboration, communication, and onboarding for experts easier than ever.

Staying dialed in to company culture is easy

Our leadership team always shares important info with us through email, our company messaging platform, and more. There’s also a monthly companywide call we can join that keeps us posted on the company’s business outlook, training opportunities, diversity & inclusion initiatives, and more. Intuit makes sure I feel part of its culture, no matter where I’m living.

Training is tops

We receive about 20 to 30 hours of training at the beginning of every season. We cover setting up our PCs, how to work the software, how to research items, and more. If there’s a technology update, our staff will walk us through all we need to know. Everything Intuit does in training makes me feel more prepared to help customers and builds my confidence.

This work makes me happy

The amount of appreciation we receive from our customers is pretty incredible. They are so grateful that experts have the knowledge they need to fill out their tax returns – and that’s emotionally rewarding for me.

This is such a great company that I keep coming back, tax season after tax season. No one can match what Intuit offers.

Professional Enrolled Agent. Amateur recruiter.

I try to encourage people to apply for a job at Intuit all the time. I’ll say, “I have an amazing seasonal career that may be a great fit for you with your tax knowledge.
