Hiring World Class Talent

Attracting and Retaining a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is part of who we are at Intuit. We aim to have a diverse candidate pool when evaluating a job opening, which sometimes means we have to look longer for top talent in new and unconventional places. We believe innovation thrives in a culture that embraces diversity of thought, so it’s no surprise that our recruiting efforts reflect our culture. When employees can bring their whole selves to work, pride and passion translates into a unique culture that has been recognized as one of the world’s best and most innovative places to work.

Intuit has an uncanny ability to recruit really great, competent people who are a joy to work with. We have a diverse, truly global team of top talent individuals who are committed to helping the company succeed.

Supporting Co-ops From Home

Every year, +450 of the smartest and most capable interns and co-ops join our company across North America. At the start of 2020, while many companies chose to scrap their internships and co-ops, Intuit pulled out all the stops to keep our students engaged, learning, and growing, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19 - even increasing our cohort size in Canada. Supporting our students while working from home was a top priority to ensure they felt connected with their classmates, as our hiring numbers increased.

Promoting Diversity in Early Career Development

Intuit believes that when we come together, we prosper. But we know opportunities to prosper aren’t evenly distributed. This is why we invest in equity – to give the underrepresented an equal opportunity. We make an intentional effort to connect with, develop, and provide opportunities to Women, BIPOC and other underrepresented communities. This year, we expanded our partnerships with student diversity organizations in Canada, hosting events with Ada’s Team, the University of Alberta’s Black Students Association, University of Waterloo’s WiSTEM

Sponsoring the Grace Hopper Conference

This year, Intuit was a proud sponsor of the virtual Grace Hopper Celebration, the world’s largest gathering of women technologists. Intuit hosted a series of information sessions for thousands of North American students. We shared information about life at Intuit, our application process as well as an open Q&A with Intuit’s Engineers.

Mentoring Tech Women at Intuit (TWI)

TWI focuses on attracting, retaining, and advancing women in technical roles. In support of this, TWI launched a global Mentorship Program that facilitates one-to-one mentoring relationships connecting mentees with leaders and champions in the organization to invest, learn and develop.

Unleashing Our "Inner Engineers"

Global Engineering Days is a time for technologists to foster autonomy, mastery and purpose in our engineering community. This year, we went virtual with the theme “Rise of the Innovators”. It was a chance to leverage the whole engineering community to kickstart an initiative or project - a bug we are eager to fix, a feature we wanted to add, a flow that needs fixing, etc. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to hone in on our customer obsession, unleash our “inner engineers” and write Beautiful Code that's production ready. Global Engineering Days is an opportunity for engineers and data scientists to use their voice and feel empowered to lead, contribute and solve big customer problems.

Building a Community of Tech Ambassadors

We know that many Intuit tech employees want to share their knowledge, expertise and best practices externally - but don’t know where to start. In response to that need, we launched the Intuit Tech Ambassador Community and Resource Center. Employees have access to a robust set of self-serve tools, resources, and training for creating and delivering engaging presentations, and writing and publishing impactful blogs. This program is supported by a community Slack channel of like-minded and supportive peers on a shared journey to build personal brands and stretch professionally.

Nega Giri

Intuit is a great place to work - it gives voice to its tech community to share learnings within and outside the org. I benefited greatly from their Tech Ambassador Program - with the community support, I published my first post on medium and also held a tech workshop at Grace Hopper Conference 2020.
