Black-owned business shopping guide

We’ve created a directory of Black-owned small business customers we love, and encourage you to support during and after National Black Business Month.

August is National Black Business Month! We’ve compiled a list of Intuit customers to create more visibility for these small businesses. We encourage you to shop Black-owned businesses online and in your community during August and beyond. We hope to create a more equitable future for the small businesses and entrepreneurs that are the backbone of the communities we live and work in daily.

What Is National Black Business Month?

National Black Business Month is a celebration of Black entrepreneurs and small business owners in August of every year. Two Black entrepreneurs, John William Templeton and Frederick Jordan, created this celebration. Their intent was to dedicate a month every year to the tremendous obstacles successful Black business owners face and, ultimately, overcome.

Why Support Black-Owned Businesses?

By participating in National Black Business Month, you:

  • Celebrate the Black-owned businesses in operation today
  • Acknowledge the historical importance of Black-owned businesses in the early 20th century, during the shaping of America as we know it

Taking time to intentionally show businesses this support not only credits them, but spurs their future growth.
