Raising the Bar on Classroom Financial Literacy: Intuit for Education Partners with W!se

A new collaboration connects Intuit’s free financial curriculum to Working in Support of Education’s (W!se) national certification standards, giving students and educators a relevant, turn-key path to financial literacy.

Money touches nearly every life decision we make, yet too many students graduate high school without the skills and confidence to make critical financial decisions. Closing that gap is exactly what drives Intuit for Education, Intuit’s free financial literacy program, and why Intuit for Education is partnering with Working in Support of Education (W!se), a leading national nonprofit dedicated to building financial literacy and readiness for college and careers.

What the Intuit for Education and W!se partnership means for schools

Intuit for Education’s free curriculum is now directly aligned to the content covered on W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification for students and Personal Finance Certification for educators. What’s new is that the lessons are now built to lead straight into W!se’s certification.

For educators, that means implementing Intuit for Education’s curriculum in class prepares students for a nationally recognized credential, while teachers can also pursue W!se’s Personal Finance Certification themselves to strengthen how they teach it. For students, it means building critical financial skills through real-world simulations powered byTurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, while building the knowledge W!se’s certification measures.

A shared standard for financial literacy

Intuit for Education’s curriculum is now mapped to the learning objectives in W!se’s certifications including six core areas:

  1. Money and the economy: how money functions as a medium of exchange and store of value, and how supply, demand, and inflation shape purchasing power
  2. Money management and planning: net worth, budgeting, and building a personal financial plan across life stages
  3. Saving and investing: saving for short and long-term goals, including retirement, and understanding 401(k) plans and employer contributions
  4. Income, careers, and taxes: evaluating job offers, income sources, and income taxes
  5. Consumer skills and financial decision-making: comparison shopping, reading the fine print, and avoiding scams and fraud
  6. Financial technology and financial well-being: using fintech tools wisely and building habits that support long-term financial wellness

“W!se and Intuit for Education share a clear goal: making effective financial literacy resources more accessible for both students and educators,” said David Anderson, CEO & President of W!se. “By mapping their lessons to our certification standards, we’re cutting through the noise and giving educators verified, high-value content they can rely on and help make a difference in the classroom.”

“By pairing Intuit for Education’s interactive lessons and real-world tools with W!se’s trusted certification standards, we are helping students become financially literate, capable, and confident,” said Dave Zasada, Vice President of Education and Corporate Responsibility at Intuit. “This collaboration bridges the gap between everyday classroom learning and nationally recognized benchmarks, ensuring young people step into the future equipped with the financial confidence and skills they need for personal and professional success.”

W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification is offered in 49 states and Costa Rica, and Intuit for Education already provides more than 350 hours of free, standards-aligned financial education resources. Together, the two programs support Intuit for Education’s goal of helping 50 million students become financially literate, capable, and confident.
