Progress Toward Our Climate Commitments

Discover how we're making a positive impact on the planet, from our global campuses to our local communities.

At Intuit, we’re inspired by the stories from environmental leaders, governments and international corporations that gathered for New York Climate Week 2025, and we’re energized to be part of these conversations. Climate change impacts us all. To deliver for our stakeholders, we strive to make a positive impact, inspire others to do the same, and execute our own holistic strategy to address climate change and promote environmental sustainability across our value chain.

Our core commitment

Intuit aims to decarbonize our entire global business activities, campuses, and supply chain with urgency. In 2023, we declared a set of near- and long-term science-based net-zero targets, validated by the Science-based Targets Initiative (SBTi), to chart a course for our net-zero future by FY40, sooner than the Paris Agreement recommends.

To measure our incremental progress in FY25, we set a goal to reduce scopes 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 10,000 metric tonnes. While we are still finalizing our GHG inventory assessment, our modeling indicates that we fell short of this FY25 interim goal. We are encouraged by the progress that we did make, and are emboldened in our commitment to our near- and long-term net-zero targets. We’ve made significant strides in decarbonizing our operations, engaging our value chain to decarbonize theirs, and reaching beyond our value chain into the communities we serve. And we’re taking from the lessons we learned over the last year to build an even better program for the future. As in past years, you’ll be able to find more details in our next Stakeholder Impact Report.

Decarbonizing our Operations

We work tirelessly to ensure our campuses across the world are sustainable places to work that support our net-zero efforts and we’re seeing measurable progress. Since 2020, we’re proud that 100% of our total global electricity is procured from renewable resources.1 Looking ahead, we will continue to use renewable energy to power our real estate portfolio. In FY24 we reduced our
scope 1 and scope 2 market-based emissions by approximately 19% from an FY22 baseline. In our next Stakeholder Impact Report, you can read about the progress we made in FY25.

Empowering our Value Chain

Within our net-zero commitment, we include a specific goal for suppliers to set their own science-based targets. We provide support for this effort through Intuit’s Supplier Climate Action Accelerator and our Supplier Emissions Reduction Program. These initiatives provide funding and training to help suppliers, including our small business suppliers, set and achieve their own emissions reduction targets and implement sustainability plans. Since launching these programs, they have supported more than 125 participants and continue to grow.

In recognition of these efforts, Intuit received the 2025 Amazon Business Sustainability Award and was shortlisted for two World Sustainability Awards, a reflection of the innovation and collaboration driving our supplier programs forward.

Small businesses are vital to a sustainable future. Through our partnerships with the California Green Business Network and the Green Business Engagement National Network, we supported over 240 small businesses across five states in FY24-25 with grants to implement energy efficiency projects, cutting both their costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Intuit IDEAS program, an accelerator that empowers small business entrepreneurs with access to AI-driven tools and experts, also educates on sustainable business practices. In June 2025, our Sustainability team hosted workshops for nearly 100 participating small business leaders in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, providing crucial sustainability education, resources and tools. To help them measure their impact, participants received a free one-year subscription to RyeStrategy, a carbon calculation software that integrates with QuickBooks.

Building a Culture of Sustainability

Intuit employees continue to make sustainability a special part of our culture and bring environmental stewardship to life. Through our We Care and Give Back volunteering and giving program, meaningful celebrations like Earth Week, and programs to engage employees in our ongoing partnership with The Farmlink Project, our employees continue to shine as change agents and leaders in their teams and communities.

Investing in Today’s Youth and Tomorrow’s Leaders

We believe today’s students will influence positive changes for the planet. We’re proud to be co-founders of the Coalfield Solar Fund, which provides incentive grants for schools in coal-producing regions of West Virginia and Southwest Virginia to deploy solar, participate in educational programs, and provide workforce development pathways for students in the clean energy field. To date, this ambitious program has already reduced more than 200,000 metric tons of CO2e and reached more than 13,000 students.

For several years, our partnership with Clearloop has enabled multiple large-scale renewable energy projects and student scholarships across the Southeastern United States, near to some of our Prosperity Hubs. In FY25, we worked with GRID Alternatives to bring its Solar Futures program to life for high school students in Los Angeles, providing paid opportunities to grow skills in STEM and build career readiness and financial literacy.

Looking Ahead

We are proud of this progress and also recognize our work is far from over. Creating a sustainable future requires creativity and collaboration. We are committed to this journey and will continue to share our progress through transparent reporting.
