Across the US, National Entrepreneurship Month recognizes the innovators and small business owners who drive our economy forward. At the same time, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) connects millions of people around the world, highlighting how new ideas and bold leadership create opportunity in every community.

This guide explores what to expect in November 2025, how these celebrations fit together, and ways you can join in honoring the entrepreneurs shaping our shared future.

Key Points

  • National Entrepreneurship Month is celebrated in the US every November to recognize and support entrepreneurs and innovation.
  • Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025 runs November 17–23, connecting entrepreneurs across roughly 200 countries under the theme “Ecosystems and Inclusion.”
  • GEW events, workshops, and competitions throughout the month offer real opportunities for networking and business education.
  • US entrepreneurs can participate in both nationwide initiatives and globally recognized GEW programming.
  • While the monthlong celebration has a lot to offer, support for entrepreneurs shouldn’t stop in November. Year-round resources and tools from organizations like Intuit are essential for long-term success.

What Is National Entrepreneurship Month?

National Entrepreneurship Month recognizes the role entrepreneurs play in driving innovation and strengthening their communities. Established by presidential proclamation in 2011, the month highlights the grit and vision of small business owners and startup founders across the country.

But the initiative is more than a feel-good campaign. National Entrepreneurship Month spotlights real issues, such as access to capital, business education, and policies that affect small business growth. It’s also a time for schools and other organizations to promote programs that help people start and grow businesses.

One of the month’s biggest highlights is Global Entrepreneurship Week, a weeklong movement running from November 17–23, 2025.

Hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network, GEW unites millions of participants across roughly 200 countries through local and virtual events that celebrate innovation, connection, and inclusion in entrepreneurship. You can learn everything from how to become an entrepreneur to targeted tips and strategies to take your small business to the next level.

Why Celebrate National Entrepreneurship Month?

Entrepreneurs help keep the economy healthy. Small businesses, startups, and the innovators behind them drive job growth, spark new ideas, and fuel local prosperity. In fact, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), firms with fewer than 250 employees accounted for 55% of all net job creation from 2013–2023

That’s why we champion National Entrepreneurship Month with initiatives like our small business sustainability programs, a combo of accelerators, grants, and business-education resources to help entrepreneurs launch and grow their ventures. It’s our way of celebrating the entrepreneurial energy, and fueling more of it.

Additionally, organizations like the Small Business Administration (SBA) typically ramp up efforts to support aspiring and existing business owners throughout November. That means more access to innovative small business resources and guidance—and funding opportunities.

Whether you’re launching a business, running one, or supporting those who do, this month invites you to learn, engage, and be inspired.

How to Celebrate and Get Involved

Start by checking out local and national events. Many areas put on small business showcases like pitch competitions and pop-up markets. Some of these events are part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, while others are homegrown celebrations that spotlight US entrepreneurs and community innovation.

To find events near you or online, check out the GEW event calendar for opportunities happening around the world.

If you’re looking to build your business skills, you can sign up for a business workshop or join a startup bootcamp. You can also grow your business finance know-how with our Entrepreneurial Finance curriculum, a hands-on way to level up during the month.

If you’re still in school, ask your instructors about entrepreneurship challenges or speaker events that may be available to you. At work, you might rally your team to support a local business or host a panel with local founders.

The only limit on the possibilities is how far your imagination can take you.

Spotlight: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025

November 17–23

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide celebration of entrepreneurship. Spanning about 200 countries, GEW brings together millions of people through events and programs that inspire innovation and new business creation.

Hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), GEW is built on the belief that anyone, anywhere should be able to start and scale a business. This year’s theme is “Together We Build,” illuminating the need for communities to share their skills to build something bigger than we could do on our own.

While Global Entrepreneurship Week connects entrepreneurs worldwide, National Entrepreneurship Month channels that same momentum into US communities. You can find local events through the SBA’s event calendar and local Chambers of Commerce. And don’t forget to explore the GEW calendar for events happening near you or online.

From pitch events to educational panels, there’s no shortage of ways to learn and grow, no matter where you are on your business journey.

Celebrating Entrepreneurs Beyond November

National Entrepreneurship Month and Global Entrepreneurship Week are powerful reminders of what’s possible when entrepreneurs have the right support. But the drive to build something meaningful doesn’t stop when the calendar flips.

Entrepreneurs need access to education and tools throughout the year, including funding, mentorship, strategic partnerships, and access to business resources. At Intuit, we’re here for the long haul.

Through programs, education, and technology, we’re creating real solutions that make entrepreneurship more accessible to everyone. Explore Intuit’s small business sustainability programs or our QuickBooks Resource Center for tools to help your business thrive year-round.
