As a company, we challenged ourselves to find a way where we can use our resources and expertise to increase economic opportunity, especially for those who need it most. Our Prosperity Hub programs – physical and virtual call centers, small business success centers, and educational institutions we are creating to help power prosperity for disadvantaged individuals and communities by creating new jobs today and preparing people for jobs of the future. Initially, we’re able to help support well-paying jobs to assist Intuit customers through our third-party workforce supply partners. In the longer term, the Prosperity Hub also provides education resources for youth, adults, and small businesses to spark economic growth and resiliency for communities. In June, Intuit, Sitel Group, and members from the Lawton, Oklahoma community came together virtually to celebrate our newest Prosperity Hub. We’re thrilled to make Lawton the first Intuit Prosperity Hub community selected because of its proximity to military families. Lawton and the surrounding areas are home to more than 67,000 active military, military veterans and military family members. The military community faces unique challenges and it can be difficult to find jobs as families move to support their loved ones that are part of the military. This initiative will bring 75 full-time, customer success work-from-home jobs to the Lawton area with potential for job expansion. Similar to our other Prosperity Hubs, vocational training to expand community members’ expertise and resources for education to support youth, adults, and small businesses to accelerate prosperity throughout the community will also be available. These opportunities come at a time when work-from-home jobs are more important than ever to support economic growth and strength. This is just the beginning and we’re looking to continuing to expand the Prosperity Hub program. To date, we’ve launched seven Prosperity Hubs in the U.S. and Canada. We’ve worked with third-party workforce supply partners to create 2,200 new jobs and will fund approximately 1,500 more full-time jobs by 2021. And our research shows that the people we hire through the Prosperity Hub Program — in jobs that all pay above minimum wage — are delivering higher than average customer experiences. Everyone wins — our customers, our business, and the communities we are part of. As shared by our CEO, Sasan Goodarzi, during the virtual event, “We are very passionate about each Prosperity Hub. They represent what we stand for as a company. All of us at Intuit are incredibly excited about the opportunity to help make a positive change in the Lawton community.“ Previous Post Supporting the USS Bonhomme Richard and our Military Community Next Post Female Founder Spotlight: Meet Allison DeVane, Founder of Teaspressa Written by Intuit Blog team Our team of contributors loves to uncover inspiring stories and share helpful tips to help power your prosperity.
