Intuit’s Military Network: Supporting Veterans in the Workplace and Beyond

At Intuit, the proud maker of TurboTax and QuickBooks, we believe the ability to power prosperity starts with having a world-class company culture, where the world’s top talent feel empowered to do the best work of their lives.

Monday, November 11th, marks Veterans Day in the U.S. — a time to honor all who have served in the Armed Forces during war or peace, and to thank them for their sacrifices. In commonwealth countries including Canada, Britain, India and Australia, a similar holiday called Remembrance Day is celebrated.

The Intuit Military Network, one of our 11 employee resource groups (ERG), views Veterans Day as a time to reflect and support our military families and veterans. It’s about taking a moment to appreciate their courage, commitment and sacrifice. It’s also about giving those who have returned home and transitioned out of the military a chance to start a new chapter in their lives, build upon what they’ve learned, and embark on new adventures.

“Veterans Day is about hitting the pause button on the daily grind and remembering there is a diverse community of people from all religions and races woven together in the fabric of the American flag, that work together every day, many in harm’s way, risking all to protect our country, our families, and our way of life.” — Karen Brasch, Global Intuit Military Network Leader

Our Military Network supports all employees from military families and veterans around the world and does not require previous military experience to join. Their goal is to provide both veterans and their families opportunities to translate their military skill sets to grow at Intuit through continual education, recruiting, mentorship, and outreach. This year, they’re also teaching hiring managers how to easily translate a military resume.

At Intuit, we’re committed to providing equal opportunities to all employees, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, military status or background. We believe that employees with a wide range of life experiences bring new ideas and perspectives to the table, so that the best ideas can rise to the top.

Our employee resource groups, like the Intuit Military Network, are just one of the many ways that we embrace diversity and build community. We believe that when we come together, we prosper.

Happy Veterans Day to all of our veterans and their families!
