Advisory Curriculum FAQs

Yes. Both the guided/educator-led and self-paced courses as well as the Client Advisory Services Foundations Badge are free — at no cost to the institution, the educator, or the student.

No. The three courses are standalone and unleveled, with no prerequisites. You don't need to be a Client Advisory Services expert either. The guided/educator-led curriculum is self-contained, with instructor guides, presentation decks, and course handouts included; no prior expertise is required, though a basic level of accounting knowledge helps. The self-paced/async courses can be assigned for students to work through at their own pace.

Choose guided/educator-led to teach live to your students with ready-to-teach materials or assign self-paced/async work for students to complete at their own pace. Both cover the same learning objectives, just two ways to teach it. Note that if Client Advisory Services is taught via guided/educator-led, students still need to complete the self-paced course here to earn the completion-based badge.

Students who complete all three Client Advisory Services courses and pass the associated exam here earn the Intuit for Education Client Advisory Services Foundations Badge, issued via Credly.

They don't have to, but students who complete both are best positioned for firm internships and employment. The two credentials are designed to complement each other: Intuit QuickBooks Certification Level 1 demonstrates technical proficiency and the Intuit for Education Client Advisory Services Foundations Badge demonstrates advisory and communication skills. They can be taught and earned in either order, or at the same time.

Yes. The content is co-developed with working advisors so that students learn concepts that are important to practicing accounting professionals.
