Prosperity Hub School Districts

Over the last two years, Intuit has invested $1 million in Los Angeles area schools and nonprofit organizations to help students gain the financial and entrepreneurial skills to prosper. Our free financial education programs and professional development opportunities have helped more than 20,000 students across Inglewood, Compton and LAUSD succeed.

Financial Literacy Forum

Teaming up the LA Clippers, our annual Fin Lit Forum brings together hundreds of students for a day of financial literacy fun. Held at the iconic Miracle Theater in Inglewood, this event features workshops that teach students budgeting, saving, and more.

Intuit for Education

Intuit for Education is a comprehensive and engaging financial literacy platform that’s built for today’s classroom. Using real-world scenarios, LA students get to learn personal and entrepreneurial finances skills USING Intuit’s products. Our curriculum is being implemented in schools across Los Angeles to help students learn the ins and outs of money.

Intuit's food truck program
Our work-based food truck program helps LA’s Career & Technical Education students develop technical, financial, and entrepreneurial skills. Partnering with LA school districts, we’re donating fully operational, state-of-the-art food trucks to schools, with curriculum to teach high schoolers how to run and operate a small business using Intuit’s financial tools.

John H. Francis Polytechnic High School
Sun Valley, CA
Poly Prime was launched in February 2024 and supported by a number of students who helped make the launch a success. Over 120 culinary arts students worked together to develop the name and the theme of the food truck, with 4 graphic design students creating the branding. The food truck will be used for classroom instruction and community events.

Maywood Academy High School
Maywood, CA
Inspired by their mascot, the Nighthawk, 82 culinary arts students participated in the build, design, and launch of their food truck, Nighthawk Cravings, in January 2024. The students plan to use their food truck for classroom instruction and have already tapped local business owners as mentors to share their business and culinary experiences with students.

IDEAS Program
With the support of the Los Angeles Urban League, Intuit’s IDEAS program offers select small business across LA the tools and resources to do big things. Through expert coaching, access to our suite of AI-driven products, and business development support, we’re giving participating business owners the critical tools and skills they need to grow and grow and grow.

Elevating Local Businesses
Across Los Angeles, Intuit is showing support for small businesses in big, big ways. Through marketing support, we’ve created giant billboards for participants in our IDEAS program, driving traffic and fame for each of these hardworking business owners. From Leimert Park to Los Feliz, these small business owners are gaining big time fame with our support.

Small Business Spotlight: Yuca's
Yuca’s is a Hispanic and woman-owned Mexican restaurant with two LA locations. The story began in 1976 when “Mama” Socorro decided to follow her dream of bringing Yucatan flavors to LA. Today that dream continues, with 80-year-old Socorro working together with her daughter Dora, serving up Yucatecan staples like tamales, tacos and burritos to hungry Angelenos.

Tax knowledge and assistance events

We believe that engaging in the preparation and filing of tax returns is an important, empowering opportunity for Angelenos to improve their financial lives. This is especially true for lower-income residents—which is why Intuit has committed to providing taxpayer assistance events for underserved families around Intuit Dome, free of charge. We’ve already brought these services to the community, including:

• Partnering with Golden State Opportunity to hold a free tax-filing event in Inglewood.

• Partnering with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) to bring taxpayer assistance events to community colleges in the LA area.

Accelerating local sustainability efforts

Intuit's longstanding commitment to sustainability centers on climate action and environmental stewardship, both inside and outside of our company. We’re partnering with the LA Clippers and local nonprofit organizations to drive carbon and methane reduction efforts that not only reduce emissions, but also provide tangible socioeconomic benefits to communities such as meaningful career development opportunities, additional tree canopy, and increased access to fresh food.

Helping end food insecurity

We partnered with The Farmlink Project to address the increasing challenges related to food waste. Farmlink's goal is to redirect extra fruits and vegetables from farms to communities in need across Los Angeles County. By acting as bridge to connect the broken supply chain in the food industry, The Farmlink Project is helping farmers, promoting sustainability, and ensuring that fresh produce reaches those who need it most.

Expanding access to renewable energy in LA

Intuit partnered with GRID Alternatives to bring solar power to 13 homes in Compton, CA, expanding equitable access to solar energy in the Los Angeles area. Through this collaboration, individuals from underrepresented groups—women, people of color, and those impacted by the criminal justice system—had the opportunity to participate in GRID's paid solar installation workforce development training program to open up new career pathways.

Planting trees for good

Having abundant trees offers essential environmental and health benefits, from cleaner air to shade cover. We partnered with TreePeople and the LA Clippers to increase the urban tree canopy in Inglewood. With the help of these partners and dozens of Intuit employee volunteers, we planted 714 trees to provide shade equity, enhance air purification and reduce carbon for Inglewood residents.
