Intuit Founder, Scott Cook

In 1983, Intuit’s founder Scott Cook sat at his kitchen table watching his wife struggle to balance the family checkbook – and he thought to himself there must be a better way. Harnessing the emerging power of personal computers, Scott and Tom Proulx created Quicken, a revolutionary new way to use technology to manage personal finances, and Intuit was born.

Intuit has been growing and thriving ever since. Over the last 40 years of Intuit’s history, we’ve grown from a small startup in Scott’s garage to become the global financial technology platform serving millions of consumers and small businesses around the world. And we’ve never stopped asking ourselves that same simple question: how can we use technology to solve our customers’ most important problems?

From the beginning, we’ve always put customers at the center of everything we do. We fall in love with their problems and never our solutions. Over our history, we’ve successfully transformed from DOS to the web, to mobile, to the cloud, and now to AI – all in service to ensuring our customers are armed with the technology they need to prosper.

We still get up every day passionate about finding new, innovative ways to use technology to deliver on our mission of powering prosperity around the world.
